Special Beach Collection

Sometimes it’s just great to do nothing, at a super beautiful beach location. For our ultimate “barefoot” collection, we looked for quiet and deserted beaches, where you will get the feeling that you would like to stay forever. We have selected a number of small hotels in these special places because of their relaxing atmosphere and peaceful surroundings. As the location is more important than luxury, our recommended accommodations are more often rather informal. They are the ultimate hideaways, where you have time to enjoy your breakfast, a dip in the sea, a delicious lunch, the siesta in a hammock, a book on the veranda, a walk on a deserted beach, and at the end of the day a rewarding sunset drink…

Italy – Sardinia

The most beautiful beaches in Europe are located in Eastern Sardinia. We recommend Costa Esmeralda or Costa Dorata. These beaches are for the happy few, with their fine white sand and beautiful turquoise sea. On the south coast you may even spot flamingos. One of our favorite hotels is Don Diego. Spain -Tarifa

Most beaches on the Spanish coast are crowded, but fortunately there are exceptions. Tarifa, at the southernmost tip of Spain is what we have in mind. The beach here is wild and deserted and it is a windsurfing paradise due to its constant strong winds. The nicest and coolest hotel on the beach is Dos Mares Hotel, but we also offer nice houses near the beach.

Morocco – Oualidia

The Atlantic coast is characterized by long and solitary beaches. The small offshore islands at Oualidia are ideal wave breakers and create a beautiful lagoon, perfect for swimming. This is the place where migratory birds love to gather in spring and autumn. La Sultana is in our view the best hotel option.

Oman – Bandar Jussa

Oman has a long coastline with endless beaches, but just south of Muscat is our favourite beach on the protected Bay of Bandar Jussa. The sheltered location provides a calm sea, making it safe for swimming and snorkelling. The hotel consists of thirty rooms, including family rooms. The rooms consist of thatched bungalows with private terrace and with the sea in front. Oman Dive is a must for peace-seekers looking to stay at the beach in an authentic setting. Maleisië – Tioman Island

White sandy beaches and a turquoise sea make Tioman – an island in the South Chinese Sea – a dream destination. Japamala Resort is the crown jewel and this small hotel is a true luxury hideaway with ‘Jungle Villas’, ‘Sea Cliff Chalets’ and ‘Tree Top Chalets’. Bahamas – Harbour Island

The Bahamas consist of 200 islands and Harbour Island is one of the more remote ones with small quiet villages and a typical eighteenth-century architecture. The five kilometer long pink sandy beach owes its name to the small pearl shells that the give this beach a lovely pale pink tone. We recommend The Pink Sand Resort.

Mexico – Yucatan

South of Cancun you will find white beaches and a blue sea with the best diving and snorkeling opportunities at your doorstep. This is the Maya Riviera and our favorite beach is quietly tucked away behind a jungle of palm trees. We recommend the Maroma Resort.

Venezuela – Los Roques

Los Roques is an a group of islands with beautiful beaches just off the coast ofVenezuelain theCaribbean. This archipelago has more than 50 islands, of which only El Gran Roque is inhabited. It’s possible to visit the other islands by fishing boat or catamaran. Hotel tip: the nice and small Posada Malibu.

Principe – Gulf of Guinea

The islands of Principe and Sao Tomé form an independent country off the west coast of Africa. This former Portuguese colony has an overwhelming nature and during summertime you can enjoy some excellent whale watching. Banana is a small sandy bay protected by a dense palm tree forest. Seychellen – La Digue

The Seychelles is an archipelago of about 90 islands. They are all equally beautiful, but there can only be one with the most beautiful beaches, and that is La Digue. Located two hours boat ride from Praslin La Digue. offers an “out of this world” setting of white beaches, tropical vegetation, blue sea and pink granite rocks. La Digue Island Lodge .is the best option to stay.

Thailand – Phang Nga

The most beautiful beaches of Thailand’s west coast are found in the picturesque bay of Phang Nga. Sandy beaches lie between rock formations and the best way to discover them is by boat. Suwan Macha Suwan Macha departs every Saturday for a four day cruise from Phuket via Phang Nga to Krabi.
