Sevilla, city of passion and character

After the discovery of America in 1492 by Columbus, the golden age started in Seville. With its strategic location on the banks of the river Guadalquivir and an open link to the sea, it was the port of entry and the administrative centre for all the goods that came from South America. La Torre del Oro was the place where all the gold and treasures were stored. Nowadays the beautiful mansions and monumental buildings in the historic city centre tell the story of these prosperous years. The Alcazar Palace, the Giralda Tower and the Cathedral are situated next to each other and have been declared cultural heritage by UNESCO. Since most of the city centre is a pedestrian area, it is possible to just wander around and shop, look and enjoy the typical tapas and a good sangria. We recommend a night in a beautiful Spanish mansion with fine tile work, patios and romantic rooms such as Rey de Baeza. This recently renovated hotel is a former 18th century palace with lovely atmosphere, where colonial elements and modern design are  combined with style. The hotel has a small swimming pool on the roof and is ideally situated in the historic centre near the Casa dos Pilatos.
