Megève, traditional village of the jetset

The Haute Savoie, the French region bordering Switzerland and Italy, is classified as one of the oldest ski areas of France. Megève is located in this region and is our favourite because it offers everything a real ski resort should have. But still it has kept the charms of a small mountain village, in spite of the fact  that in winter the jet set frequents this resort. 

Together with five other mountain villages, Megève forms the large ski area Evasion Mont Blanc. The 2350 meter high summit of Mont Joly offers a stunning view of Mont Blanc. With a total of 445 km of ski slopes and over 100 lifts Megève is a true ski paradise. It has blue and red slopes and the more experienced skiers have the choice of seventeen black descents. Because the village lies at an altitude of 1113 meters between the forests, it is also an ideal place for other winter sports such as cross-country skiing, skating and walking. A public sauna with solarium, a fitness centre and a public indoor swimming pool complete the picture. For young children Megève provides childcare and a children's ski school, which makes full use of the baby lift. There are some English-speaking ski instructors.

The centre of Megève has plenty of trendy shops and boutiques and is built around a historic church from 1085. In and around the village there are dozens of restaurants, including the famous restaurant with a Michelin star called Chez Nano. For the after dinner parties there are seven bars, two wine bars, three cinemas and there's a large choice of discos and a casino. 

Megève is easy to reach within an hour from the airport of Geneva and we provide you with easy transfer by car or minibus. Due to this easy accessibility Megève is very suitable for ski weekends.
