Unexpected Puglia

Unexpected discoveries in the heel of Italy, an undiscovered part of Italy with lots to explore. This is an agricultural region with a beautiful coastline and beautiful beaches. As the Italians prefer to go here themselves, they do not advertise this area so much. But the Baroque towns, excellent cuisine, fine wines and of course the beautiful beaches are really worth seeing and more and more visitors spend time here. In our villa collection, we have a unique selection of luxury villas with private pools. There are many wonderful hotels and below you will find a selection of our portfolio.

Masseria Borgo San Marco is located just 2km from the coast in Fasano, near Brindisi and Bari airport. This typical country-house has a wonderful atmosphere and an agricultural character with large gates and a courtyard. There are mountain bikes present and a lovely garden with swimming pool which overflows into huge olive groves.

If you would rather stay at the seaside then Canne Bianch Lifestyle Hotel would be a great choice. For those looking for a little more luxury we can recommend Masseria San Domenico *****. This 14th century masseria lies peacefully within 500m from the sea and offers a private beach club, swimming pool of 65m length, tennis, extensive spa and an 18-hole golf course. The beach club also has four guest rooms, allowing you to sleep closer to the sea if you wish.

Masseria Monte Lauro is another historic “Masseria” with 14 rooms, at just 2 km from Otranto and the ocean. This luxurious hotel is located in the extreme southeast, not far from Lecce, the attractive “Florence of the south”. The Masseria is located within a rural setting of 100 hectares of ancient olive trees and has a lovely pool.

On the west side of the heel is Gallipoli, a small town with an historical centre with narrow streets where generations of fishing families have lived. In the downtown area several mansions have been refurbished and here you will find lovely shops and boutique hotels such as the Palazzo Mosco Inn with a lovely rooftop terrace overlooking zee. A little to the south of Gallipoli you can enjoy wonderful beach clubs.

The Borgo Egnazia is one of the best luxurious family hotels located in Southern Italy with hotel rooms, townhouses and villas for up to 4-8 people. The hotels offers 63 rooms and suites and the ‘Borgo’ village with private villas and mansions. There are several restaurants and bars, an outdoor pool, an indoor pool, a 1,800 m2 spa, two beach clubs as well as an 18 hole golf course.

The 19th century Palazzo Margherita is located in Bernalda, a small town on a hill in the region of Basilicata. Matera, famous for its ancient cave dwellings, dramatic landscapes, and historic homes is not far from here. Bernalda was the birthplace and residence of the grandfather of film director Francis Ford Coppola. Francis bought the Palazzo in 2004 and turned it into an intimate, luxury hotel, believing that it was time to acquaint visitors with this beautiful and still undiscovered region.
Puglia also lends itself well for a 10-day round trip by car.
