Trendy Tangier

This romantic seaside resort has been a source of inspiration for many filmmakers and artists. The multicultural climate attracted Western artists such as Paul Bowles, author of The Sheltering Sky. But William S. Burroughs, Jack Kerouac, Tennessee Williams and the Rolling Stones have stayed here on various occasions.
The current King Mohammed VI, has chosen this city as his favourite and Tangier has now been renovated and a beautiful new marina has also been built. Tangier is close to Europe, the Spanish influence is strongly felt here. The Andalusian style is reflected in the urban planning and buildings. This Mediterranean seaside city has minarets, palm trees and overlooks the Strait of Gibraltar. The city is divided in the historic medina, with quaint streets and the new district with museums and fine restaurants. Outside the city you will find beautiful beaches and luxury villas, including the Royal Palace. Because of the international character not only Arabic and Berber are spoken but also French and Spanish. There are several charming hotels to be found in Tangier.

Dar Nour, or “house of light”, is located within the ancient walls of the medina and was the first riad in Tangier. Dar Nour has nine comfortable rooms and suites, all individually designed and decorated with Moroccan art objects.

The phenomenal view from the hotel stretches along the coast of North Africa and southern Spain, which is only 15km away. The terraces around the hotel as well as the beautifully landscaped hotel gardens, offer amazing views of the coastline and the Atlantic Ocean. The “Royal Golf Club” is just 8 km away is and Tangier city centre a 20 minutes’ drive.
