Tanzania & Zanzibar

Tanzania located in East Africa, is rich with flora and fauna and has huge variety of national parks. The snowy Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa, dominates the landscape and the Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Selous are rightly world famous. A safari trip per 4 × 4 with private driver / guide through Tanzania is an experience you will never forget. We recommend to book overnight stays in small-scale lodges or tented camps.

After your first night in Arusha, you will spend the second day visiing Arusha National Park. This small lesser known park offers special activities such as walking safaris and canoe trips. Then departure with 4 × 4 and private driver / guide to Tarangire NP known for its large elephant population. The Tarangire Safari Lodge has a spectacular location in the middle of the National Park alongside the river with the same name.

The journey continues to the Serengeti where you can witness the great migration from November to March. This vast wildlife park is one of the most beautiful nature reserves in the world because of its spectacular landscapes and wide horizons. Granite rock formations located here and there form strategic lookout points for the lion populations. The choice of the lodges is determined by the season as well as availability. The small-scale Migration Camp is a good choice.

On the way to Lake Manyara you can descend into the Ngorongoro crater with an abundance of animals: lions, pink flamingos, rhinos, zebras, leopards, hippos, elephants. Gibbs Farm is a special accommodation and a wonderful place to spend the night. Then the journey continues to Tree Tops Lake Manyara, a worthy end to this beautiful safari trip.

A visit to the Serengeti is less interesting during our summer months because the animals are mostly in the Masai Mara in Kenya. In these months we recommend a visit to Selous and Ruaha National Park, located in southern Tanzania. The Selous Safari Company offers beautiful lodges that can be combined during a tour.

At the end of the safari trip, the Indian Ocean is within reach and the islands of Zanzibar and Pemba in particular lend themselves well to a wonderful beach holiday.
