Canada: Outdoor Adventures

19-day fly & drive Western Canada
This fantastic tour is especially suitable for parents with children where by the overnight stays in specialized hotels and lodges are the greatest asset. So as not to have to travel every day, we recommend two or three nights in one location. There are a number of outdoor activities at each location such as canoeing, mountain biking, hiking, rafting, horseback riding, fishing and bear spotting.

The best combination for a city and nature holidays are British Columbia and Alberta, the western provinces of Canada. This fly & drive tour begins with a comfortable direct KLM flight to Calgary and ends with a direct return flight from Vancouver to Amsterdam. Calgary is situated close to the Banff National Park, one of the most beautiful parks in Western Canada with glaciers and breathtaking mountain lakes. Further north lies Jasper National Park which is surrounded by stunning natural beauty and has the perfect spots for canoeing or white water rafting. Via Sun Peaks and Whistler, the trip continues through “cowboy country” to Horshoe Bay. It’s also possible to make an overnight stop on a beautiful ranch such as Echo Ranch, along the way. From Horshoe Bay, a ferry departs for Vancouver Island and during the crossing you will often see whales swimming the oceans. The highlight of the trip is a flight by seaplane to the Knight Inlet Inn, a floating lodge in one of the most beautiful fjords in the country.

This tour ends in Vancouver, one of the most popular cities in the Americas. Visit the Vancouver Aquarium with its belugas, sea lions and otters or take a water taxi to the Kids Market on Granville Island. Here are adults only welcome when accompanied by at least one child.
