Argentina, Chile & Brazil

During our summer months, North Argentina and Chile are easy to travel as it is dry with an average temperature of 22 ºC. A journey through these countries guarantees breathtaking desert landscapes with beautiful towns along the way, Indian cultures, fine wines and overnight stays in characteristic haciendas and colonial houses.

The journey begins with a visit to the bustling capital of Argentina, Buenos Aires! Also consider spending the night in a beautiful Estancia outside the city and experiencing the Gaucho culture. Estancia La Bamba de Areco offers a special experience and is probably the best choice.

Then it’s off to the beautiful north of Argentina as you fly from Buenos Aires to Salta, the staring point for the North. This area is easy to explore by rental car and there are wonderful places to spend the night such as Cafayate, Cachi and El Manantial del Silencio in Purmamarca. Lovers of desert landscapes can travel from Northern Argentina to the Atacama desert in Chile and fly back from Santiago de Chile. The landscape of Atacama is much like that of Mars. There is nothing but sand, rocks and extinct volcanoes, thanks to the erosion you will find special rock formations here. The Tierra Hotel has a spectacular natural location and offers special daily activities in the desert.

From Salta there are direct flights to the Argentinian side of the world famous waterfalls of Iguazu. On the border of Argentina, Paraguay and Brazil, no fewer than 270 waterfalls plunge into the Paraná River over a length of 2.7 kilometers. Here you will cross the border to Brazil with overnight stay at Hotel das Cataratas, the only hotel located in the National Park. Nature lovers can visit the Pantanal nature park, known for its emerald-green wetlands with special flora and fauna. Here you will find one of the most extraordinary nature parks in South America so make sure you have a minimum of 4 days to visit the Pantanal. Consider for example an overnight stay in Barra Mansa.

Finally, a visit to Rio de Janeiro, the most bustling city of Brazil with beautiful beaches just around the corner. Click here our day-by-day description of the tour.
